BOMA San Francisco's Government Affairs Policy Advisory Committee (GAPAC), met with San Francisco's Department of Public Works (SFDPW) Director Mohammed Nuru recently. Here are the highlights from the meeting:

SFDPW Management

• On-time and on budget philosophy.
• Data used to propose and track projects
• Other agencies are interested in this management tool
• Use data every month to understand how resources are being used.
• 98 % response time via SF311.
• The Department has a strategic plan
• All managers have a performance plan 
• In house university to help staff to become educated about new practices and tools.

Proposition B Update – The Road Repaving and Street Safety Bond (2011)

• 900 blocks have been paved to date. 
• ADA sidewalk ramps are included with the new street paving.
• Helps improve San Francisco's Pavement Condition Index (PCI) score
• Now moving up to 66 (out of 100); was 63 just a few years ago.
