The San Francisco's Treasurer’s Office has gone live with online business registration. There is a nice story on their effort here.
The online registration form is available at: http://sftreasurer.org/registration.
Business starter kits, information, and other assistance is available at http://businessportal.sfgov.org.
What does this mean for BOMA San Francisco members and their small business tenants? It means that a person wishing to register their business can submit their registration online, sign a secure online form (DocuSign), and pay their registration, all in about an hour. They will get their Business Account Number (BAN) and Online PIN via email after they sign their online form. They will have to use it immediately if they wish to pay online. If the Treasurer's office needs further information because of the complex nature of the registration, staff are assigned to follow up.
