BOMA San Francisco members met with Mayor Gavin Newsom today to discuss issues that affect the commercial real estate industry in San Francisco. Here are the highlights:
- Supervisor David Chiu's Office Building After-Hours Lighting Ordinance - the Mayor feels that this issue should be studied further through the newly organized Existing Building Task Force.
- Set-Aside Reform - the Mayor cautioned against reforming set-asides by stating "be careful what you wish for".
- Governmental and Budgetary Reforms - the Mayor's office is looking at it and is supportive but these types of reforms will take time to study.
- Congestion Pricing - the Mayor is not for congestion pricing at this time. There is a lot more that has to be studied first. Now is not the right time to do it.
