In a short and usually early meeting today, the Board of Supervisors and Mayor Gavin Newsom introduced a charter amendment--on the recommendation of the Controller's Office Budget Improvement Project--for a two-year city budget. While the charter amendment is a step in the right direction, we remain hopeful that our city's government leaders will also consider permanent budget reform that will create a sustainable financial future for San Francisco.
